2nd Laparoscopic core skills workshop

A workshop over two days from national leading laparosopic expert Consultant Surgeons and colleagues. This workshop is aimed at either trainees at the beginning of their laparoscopic learning curve or junior trainees looking to learn cutting edge techniques and decision making. Low candidate number capped at maximum of 10 per course allowing tailored made learning to your position on learning curve.

Hosted across multiple sites we hope to combine live emergency operating with live audience participation as well as recognition and decision making in more complex pathologies such as incidental Crohns disease, carcinoid tumours and ovarian pathology. The two day course finishes with a wet lab day at the cutting edge LOTUS facility in South Brent allowing every participant to practice core laparoscopic skills in a supervised environment. 

This new course is an absolute must for FY2 considering core training and Core trainees considering General Surgery HST application. Due to COVID we now are also offering virtual attendance to day one to allow more Junior Surgeons to benefit from the excellent training opportunity that is this course. Skills taught laparoscopic suturing, external laparoscopic knot tying, perforated DU closure, basic and advanced laparoscopic skills taught appropriate to your level.

1:15pm Crohns disease and Meckels appendicectomy

2:45pm Laparoscopic core skills lecture (entry methods, instrument use etc)
